The Ask panel is bring-your-own-model: Claude Sonnet 5, Haiku 4.5, GPT-6 Sol, GPT-6 Luna, Gemini 3.5 Flash, Flash-Lite, or Grok 4.20, on your own API key, about 2¢ a question. Stop writing SQL — ask, and get the SQL back with the answer.

Quick answer: QueryFlow's Ask panel is bring-your-own-key and bring-your-own-model. Add an API key for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or xAI in Settings, then pick Claude Sonnet 5, Haiku 4.5, GPT-6 Sol, GPT-6 Luna, Gemini 3.5 Flash, Flash-Lite, or Grok 4.20 from the model switcher. Auto mode uses a cheap model to explore and a strong model to answer. Questions cost about 2¢ each, billed by the provider on your key.
Studio ships with an Ask panel that isn't locked to one vendor. Add whichever key you already have and QueryFlow routes your question there — same schema context, same step cards, same memory, whichever model answers.
Turn on Auto mode and QueryFlow sends the exploration work — reading table names, sampling columns, checking recent errors — to a fast, inexpensive model. Once it has enough context, a stronger model writes the final answer. You get frontier-model quality without paying frontier-model rates for every step.
Answers default to a single sentence plus the SQL that produced it — skim it, run it, move on. Type /brief for even shorter, or /verbose to see full reasoning and every step the panel took.
Every question shows step cards for what the panel actually looked at: which tables, which columns, which prior query results. It works within a 30-step budget per question, and a Continue button appears if it needs more room to finish.
Thumbs-up a good answer and it becomes a verified query the panel can reuse. Teach it your team's vocabulary — "Flex Plan means pick-your-games" — and it applies that going forward. Clear all memory in one click from Settings whenever you want a clean slate.
⌘L opens the panel from anywhere in the workspace. Return sends. Prompt chips are adaptive — built from your real table and column names instead of generic examples. Inline completions in the SQL editor trigger when you pause typing, fill in from both directions (not just left-to-right), and accept with Tab.

Only for the providers you want to use. Add one key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or xAI) to start, and add more later. QueryFlow never sees or stores your queries beyond routing them to the model you picked.
Typically about 2¢, billed directly by the model provider on your own key — QueryFlow doesn't mark it up or charge separately for AI usage.
Auto mode routes your question to a cheap, fast model first to explore your schema and recent results, then hands off to a stronger model to write the final answer — cutting cost without cutting quality.
